THE ESF SYMPOSIUM
For the first time ever, the Shiatsu associations of Europe will come together to map out a strategy for the future of our profession.
ESF and non-ESF organisations alike will be sending representatives to reflect upon what has been, discuss what is ongoing and together look forward to a bright and united future.
Even where there currently exists no association, key players in local European Shiatsu communities have been invited – and accepted – to attend and contribute.
Our Work Depends on You…

What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is an autonomous natural healthcare system, which originated in Japan and is influenced by Chinese and, more recently, Western medical knowledge. It derives its theoretical and practical roots from the ancient traditions of Far Eastern philosophies and the holistic understanding of life and health contained within them.
The aim of Shiatsu is to stimulate and support the processes of natural self-healing, well-being and personal growth, and to maintain health through balancing the human energetic system.
Shiatsu uses the application of pressure and of energetic and physical touch to the body and its energy channels and points to balance the circulation of vital energy (Ki or Chi).
As a self-regulating health care and health promotion system, it supports the development of a new holistic health paradigm in Europe.
